Making welleing a number one priority

About Majella

I’m a professional coach accredited with the ICF, and have over ten years’ experience as a Well-being Leader in education.

When my work commitments began to take precedence over other more important areas of my life, I learnt the hard way what happens to your health and wellbeing when you prioritise work over your life.

I experienced exhaustion and burnout after years of working in an environment where stress and fatigue are normalised, accepted and largely overlooked by employers.

When we focus on the well-being of learners in isolation it dilutes the message that well-being really matters – and offers them a poor role model. Through using the Well 2 Shine™ 5 pillar Framework for Schools, I want to make Well-being a number one priority in schools for ALL members of the school community, not just the learners.

Why work with me?

A whole-school approach to wellbeing

The Well 2 Shine Schools™ Framework will enable School Leaders to create strong systems that cater for all aspects of Well-being.

I will work with you to:

  • Support you in looking at your setting holistically and offering a whole-school community approach for improving Well-being for all: learners, teachers, parents, support staff and school leaders.
  • Ensure Well-being is an Area of Learning in its own right; we will look at the opportunities for Well-being learning and reflection within daily routines, across the curriculum and throughout all teaching and learning.

As well as investing in the Well-being of your learners, investing in the Well-being of your teaching staff, parents and school leaders will result in better teaching, better learning, better support for learning at home and better leadership.

Well-being in schools requires strong systems in place

“Monitoring and measuring Well-being in schools requires strong systems in place to capture accurately both the snapshot of individual’s well-being at any given point in time, but also to measure the impact of the delivery of Well-being Strategies over the course of a longer period of time.”
